HERO HAIR: The REEL Wig Experience™ was honored to provide our studio’s full production hair design, and custom wig, hairpiece & facial hair creation services for “ONYX The Fortuitous And The Talisman Of Souls,” the all-new, full-length motion picture from Writer/Director Andrew Bowser, recently premiered in the midnight program section at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival!
HERO HAIR not only bid successfully to become the official on-location hair department for this spectacular production, designing and physically creating all principal and supporting actor/character natural hair looks for the screen, but also designed, hand-fabricated, applied and styled on set all custom wigs & hairpiece applications seen on principal cast, and some VERY special guest-star ghouls (physically realized puppets) created by kreature kid Studios.
Jeffrey Combs' custom facial hair for the role of "Bartok" also designed, hand-fabricated & applied by HERO HAIR.

Of Our Work
On
fabrication of our wigs & facial hair for this production included the following details- Hand-blended/ hand-toned virgin human hair (wigs) and human, angora & yak belly (facial hair) on HD (high-definition) feature film-lace. Complete hairline perimeter reveal (forehead, temples & nape) with our studio's exclusive "HERO-Hairline™," the faithfully reproduced, hyper-accurate hairline of the original actor, subject or visual source reference (in this case, that of our In-studio/on-location study access with our various actors' naturally existing borders) and complete crown-to-perimeter hair trajectory-mapping through our studio's exclusive "Hair-Directional Growth Pattern Plotting™," programming the illusion of life into every custom piece we create.
"ONYX The Fortuitous And The Talisman Of Souls" further benefited from HERO HAIR's exclusive beyond-the-sale services around our work, including our full digital pre-visualization concept design, and in-person wig & facial hair technician production crewing on set as an adjunct, orbital (fully staffed) support department to our own HMU (Hair & Makeup) with members of our studio's exclusive wig-technician team providing the following- Wig, facial hair and hairpiece applications, scene continuity and last-looks styling management assist of all principal & supporting cast members' custom pieces, and de-wigging of our actors (working under the supervision of the Hair Dept. Head).
HERO HAIR additionally provided our exclusive REFRESH, RESET & RESTYLING™ services for all of our custom pieces created for the production, between shooting days.
